Gotti: Three Generations Director Speaks

Written by: Stoic Taco

Barry Levinson, the director of Gott: Three Generations has spoken about the new film in an interview given at the Cannes Film Festival.

“You’re really kind of getting an inside look from the man who lived it, who in fact was the mafia boss there, and about his father, who was probably the biggest, most well-known figure…It fascinated me to hear the stories, to get a sense of the man, get a sense of how he viewed his father.”

The role of John Gotti Snr is still vacant at this point in time, however I have heard the name James Franco being thrown around more than once, however nothing official has been confirmed.

The film already contains an all-star heavyweight cast, John Travolta as John Gotti, real life wife Kelly Preston as Victoria Gotti, Joe Pesci as Angelo Ruggiero, Lindsay Lohan as Kim Gotti, Lindsay Lohan as Victoria Gotti, and Al Pacino as Neil Dellacroce.

Filming is scheduled to commence next year with a release date in 2013.

Al Pacino Joins Gotti:Three Generations

The news is good. The news is very good.

The Godfather himself, Michael Corleone aka Al Pacino, has signed on to join the cast of Gotti: Three Generations playing John Gotti Sr’s associate and mentor Neil Dellacroce.

If any actor was going lend credibility to a film and bring it back on track it’s going to be Al Pacino.

The film has been plagued with some controversy, Lindsay Lohan being cast then removed then re-cast again and also having the original director walk away, and so casting the Godfather in an integral role is surely going to raise interest and get the film back on track.

The second lot of good news is the addition of Barry Levinson stepping into the role as director, a position which has remained empty since Nick Cassavetes walked away a month or so ago. Barry Levinson has had a long and industrious history in Hollywood as both director and producer, You Don’t Know Jack, Wag The Dog, and Rain Man and there is no doubt that with him running the show that this film is back on track.

So let’s just take a moment and see where we’re at….we have;

John Travolta as The Dapper Don

Kelly Preston as Victoria Gotti

Joe Pesci as Angelo Ruggiero

Lindsay Lohan as Kim Gotti

and

Al Pacino as Neil Dellacroce

Now tell me that you’re not excited!
