Slayer Guitarist To Miss Soundwave Festival

Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman will miss Soundwave Festival due to requiring an emergency operation on his right arm. Hanneman has been diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, a rare disease which destroys skin, fat and tissue, brought on by a spider bite.
No news yet as to how long Hanneman will be out for but Kerry King has been quoted as saying “After everything that’s happened we all agreed that we just can’t let our fans down again. Jeff is totally on board with the decision, so we will tour as planned. We can’t pinpoint what day he’ll be back, but it will be as soon as he possibly can. We can’t wait for him to get better and get his ass back on the road.”

Slayer have announced their fill in guitarist as Gary Holt from the band Exodus.

Let’s hope Jeff makes a full recovery and is back shredding it up where he belongs.

Sydney Soundwave Changes Venue

For our Sydney followers who are heading to Soundwave on Feb 27th the venue has been moved from Eastern Creek Raceway to Sydney Olympic Park.

Should be pretty good considering it’s a tried and true venue for many events.
